DVM reviewer recruitment in progress
FlockVet is actively recruiting a licensed DVM with poultry or avian experience to formally review and approve published content. We do not currently have a DVM on staff, and we will not claim "DVM-reviewed" status on any page until that review is complete.
How content is reviewed now
All existing content is written by researchers with deep study of established veterinary references, including the Merck Veterinary Manual (poultry sections), The Chicken Health Handbook by Gail Damerow, and peer-reviewed journals including Avian Diseases and Poultry Science.
Every condition guide includes citations to the specific sources used. Our editorial policy describes the full review process, sourcing standards, and how we handle updates when new evidence emerges.
When our DVM reviewer is onboarded, all existing content will be formally reviewed before we display a DVM credential. We will update this page at that time with full details about our veterinary reviewer.
Are you a DVM with poultry experience?
We are looking for a licensed veterinarian - ideally with avian, poultry, or mixed-practice experience - to serve as FlockVet's medical reviewer. This is a paid consulting role, not a full-time position.
Responsibilities would include reviewing condition articles for clinical accuracy, approving treatment protocols, and flagging any claims that require modification or removal.

We believe flock keepers deserve honest information - including honesty about the current status of our own site. We will not fabricate credentials we don't have. When our DVM reviewer is in place, we will make that visible on every page it applies to. Until then, we are transparent about where we are in the buildout.
