About FlockVet

Vet-reviewed poultry health information - free, honest, and built for the people actually taking care of the birds.

Our mission

When a bird gets sick at 10pm and the vet is closed, most flock keepers turn to forums and Facebook groups - where advice ranges from excellent to dangerous with no way to tell the difference.

FlockVet exists to change that. Our goal: give every flock keeper access to the same quality of information a good poultry veterinarian would provide - with clear guidance on when to call a vet, what to do in the meantime, and why.

All content is written to a veterinary reference standard, cited to peer-reviewed sources and established texts, and reviewed for clinical accuracy before publishing. No ads. No sponsored content. No affiliate links. Ever.

Where we are right now

FlockVet is in active development. We launched with a seed library of 17 fully-researched condition guides covering the most clinically significant conditions across chickens, ducks, turkeys, quail, and geese. We are adding new guides and features on an ongoing basis.

We are currently recruiting a licensed DVM reviewer to formally sign off on published content. All existing content has been written to veterinary reference standards and will be reviewed and approved before we publicly claim "DVM-reviewed" status. See our editorial policy for full detail on our standards.

We believe in being honest about what we are: a new site in active buildout, committed to a high standard, not yet claiming a scale or credential we have not earned.

What we cover

  • ✓Health conditions - causes, symptoms, diagnosis, conventional treatment, and natural/supportive care for every major poultry health condition
  • ✓5 species - chickens, ducks, turkeys, quail, and geese covered with species-specific clinical detail, not chicken-only info repackaged for other birds
  • ✓Symptom checker - a triage tool that asks clinically relevant questions and returns a differential diagnosis with urgency rating
  • ✓Natural first - every condition guide covers integrative and natural care options with the same rigor as conventional treatment, with honest assessment of what works and what doesn't
